Joy and Justice

Founded in 2023 by Erica, a survivor of domestic violence, Joy & Justice was created with the sole purpose of bringing joy to families facing the challenges of domestic violence while advocating for transformation within the justice system.

In 2022, Erica suffered an unimaginable loss when her daughters’ lives were taken in an act of domestic violence.  Fueled by her passion and personal experience, she is dedicated to preventing similar tragedies and helping families rebuild and heal.

At Joy & Justice, we offer children who have endured unimaginable hardships the opportunity to simply be kids. We provide them with joyful experiences that strengthen the bond with their safe parent, offering a pathway to healing in the face of adversity.

Mission

Joy & Justice fosters healing through positive experiences for children and their safe parent impacted by domestic violence while promoting education and awareness.

Drive Change Together

Joy & Justice was honored to be part of the Drive for Change event, where one of our Joy Program families received a vehicle. This powerful moment showed what’s possible when a community comes together with compassion and purpose, united by the belief that safety, independence, and dignity should be within reach for every survivor.

"Thank you for seeing us. Thank you for believing that we matter. And thank you for helping us step into a new chapter with hope and with a sense of possibility that is brighter than we’ve known before."

Work Hard. Be Kind.

Work Hard Be Kind Erica and her daughters lived by the motto: Work Hard. Be Kind. At Joy & Justice, we have adopted this philosophy as our guiding principle.
